Coach and Horses - New Italian?
Anyone been? Is it any good and what are prices like?
They certainly seem to have spent some money on doing the building/car park up etc.
TIA

Re: Coach and Horses - New Italian?
Heard about that last week Ian, wonder who's opening it, could it be the chap who owns the Pack Horse. The Coach was one of my favourite pubs in the 70s and 80s spent a lot of time there worked behind the bar for a time when John Preston first took over in 77 met my second wife there too, probably the only down side of the place

This was the Planning Application for the extension at the time ... never did understand exactly who the applicant is. Have googled, looked in Companies House, perhaps someone else has an idea ?

They've certainly spent loads of money, it used to be my favourite place to eat so I hope it's OK

Re: Coach and Horses - New Italian?
Thanks jaysay, it looks like they've developed the old barn to the left, it has great views at the back but it looks a bit expensive to me !

Ya wadey when John Preston had in the 70s he always said that if he had the brass he would expand the pub into the barn, which was only common sense really, and as for the view from the rear windows many's the time I've sat in the bay window and watch the sun rise with a CC and DGA in my hand

It sound a bit dearer than the bill I got when I had my wedding reception there in 1977 (see I remembered). The place was staffed by girls dressed as serving wenches, I don't think it had been re-opened long.
I still have the bill. All the guests got a menu and told to pick whatever they wanted and they all had a good feed and enjoyed it. It worked out at £1 (a quid) a head plus the cake and booze.

Re: Coach and Horses - New Italian?
My aunt and uncle had it for a while in 1950s .
Outside toilets were big tubs emptied weekly by council workers .
Not very pleasant in the summer when a few coach parties had stopped by .

Re: Coach and Horses - New Italian?
"Coach and Horses" in the 70s had a sign outside saying "No Coaches" always amused the kids

I know why that sign went up wadey there was a coach of, I think Owls fans either on there way to or away from Ewood, probably away after getting licked actually recked the place, hence the sign
