Hi all,

I'm trying to track down a copy of The Nature of the Beast, filmed in Accrington in 1988, directed by Franco Rosso, starring Lynton Dearden & Paul Simpson. Please can anyone help ?????

I'm sure that i have a copy of this on VHS video tape.
I will check for you. (if it would be any good in that format.)

Thanks for your reply Margaret!! I would love to see it myself but unfortunately don't own a vhs player. There is an old thread somewhere on Accrington web from a couple of years ago where members were discussing the film. Somebody was lucky enough to have a VHS copy in which someone kindly transferred to DVD and made copies.

I was trying to refresh the topic in hope of getting hold of a copy as my grandparents were telling me about the film last year. They live on Belfield Rd and remember it being filmed in their area in the late 80s. They never did get to see it so would love to try and get a copy for an Xmas pressie. Would love to see it too as I myself used to work at the factory bottoms and went to Hollins-also in the film.

If you can find someone who would transfer the film to DVD for you, that would be great.

Hang on I'd better find the thing first!

My brother was in the production team of the film.......and it was filmed near where I used to live.

Cool!! Would your brother know of anyone with a DVD copy? As a local artist, I must see this film. I've trawled the internet for ages trying to find something on it. When were it on TV?

It's funny when considering what the film is actually about with regards to employment...some things neer change eh!!

No......I don't think so...it is such a long time ago now.
Men don't hang onto things like that do they?
It is only by chance I came across this VHS copy.......I have it somewhere in the house, but I cannot be sure what the quality is like and I have no VHS player to check it out.

You are spot on there.
I don't know when it was on TV.

Highams and Warburtons Mills on the factory bottom are now in the process of demolition.....so it will soon be just a memory.
