Yea! they are slashing prices on the cheap smartprice rubbish and stcking between ten and 35p on the branded goods.

Used to work in the butchers departmet of a supermarket and making sausages was part of the job, so have no illusions on what goes into them

was also me first job in 63 apprentice butcher, all the fatty crap has always gone in sausages NO matter were ya buy em, some just put more crap in than others, was no big supermarkets way back, n as asda get em dead cheap cos of their buying power dont really mean theirs are any worse? personally always buy mine from local butcher cos i love em.

I worked at a butchers on the market so i know how they prepare their meat

I think everyone knows that these sausgages will be of a lesser quality, or less meat content than others, But people buy what they can afford. I think we'd all love to be able to buy the top notch in everything, just not possible for some though. I dont realy like these threads that remind everyone what COULD be going into items. Some people have to buy them anyway so just dont see the point in slating it.

And with the credit crunch and our economy at the moment, you can guarentee that the market for these type of cheap items is going to grow and grow.

They actually did a test on Breakfast TV this morning they gave a bloke 2 brekfasts, one with the old sausages with 75% meat and the cheap ones with 34% meat, not surprising the chap said that the cheap ones were very bland
