Parking at side of Market Hall
I'm sure i read a post on this somewhere recently but i cant find it...or i may have dreampt it, anyhow i bumped into a pal in Accy this morn who had parked here for 15 mins whilst collecting a large tv from the cash converters store. When he came back he had a parking ticket...£40 paid before a certain time, otherwise £80. What are the rules and regulations for parking here, i walked past here afterwards and there is a sign close to the Town Hall saying parking restricted to loading or unloading....but it doesn't say who can load or unload.
Was he eligible to park there in order to collect goods from the store or is it just for Market Traders/Shop Owners, a large tv is quite an item to carry for any distance, which is why he parked there, as i say...he said he was only there for 15 minutes!
Best Regards - Taggy

You're supposed to have a permit although I'm not sure how they go on when delivery drivers don't have one.

Re: Parking at side of Market Hall
Does it state anywhere that its for Permit holders or Market Traders only? As i say...i havn't looked all around there but just at the side of the Town Hall was a sign stating for Loading/Unloading only...but it doesn't stipulate that its restricted to certain users, unless theres another sign somewhere else that does include this information!

Why didn't your mate park down Blackburn Road? There are no rules whatsoever about parking down there..he can park fully on the pavement, half way on and off or right in the middle of the road if he wants to....who cares? It's a No-Go land for cops and traffic wardens.

He said the ticket was from a private company, so your probably right, apparently they weren't particularily helpful in the shop, so i assume its something that happens a lot!

Re: Parking at side of Market Hall
i think its parkwise , theres a number on teh ticket to ring to pay and i think one to ask about disputing it
if you have looked on all the posts and walls nearby the entrance to the area and there is no sig youmay be able to argue that it isnt clearly stated not to park there/ unload
when you ring dont use teh words " i was parked there " i would say " i was collecting a delivery "
ps:
although a private company they are employed / contracted by hyndburn council so it may well be worth ringing the leader of teh council if you get no joy with them and see if he can help
its just a pity these clown wardens never book the morons who park up on the roundabout outside teh yorkshire bank causing tailbacks

99% certain it's not Parkwise. There is definatley a sign somewhere.
Even I got warned once because I had been issued the wrong colour of permit by the office

I presume he mentioned to the staff in the shop he was going to get his car. Would have helped if they had told him first.

Think he said he just parked up and went to the shop to get his tv...he said he went back to shop after he got the ticket to ask about it, but staff didnt want to know!

Re: Parking at side of Market Hall
The more I hear of these shopping problems, the more I think that people will shop on line and get free or nominal delivery charges. It is much less hassle.
Maybe if parking was easier the town centre wouldn't be dying.
