Townleys' was still there in the 70's. A gang of kids used to climb over their fence at night and sit on the roof.

A guy called Wilf Marrow took it over and moved the house building part of Franklands there sometime in the 70s, don't know when they stopped trading

I think there was a report in the Telegraph a few weeks back.It mentioned an Urban Youth Zone,with an underground Skate Park.The sum of £300,000 was mentioned,can't remember if this was the sum needed or amount alreadyfound!

was talking to the guy n his missus this afternoon, thats getting the place, told me its going to become a community centre, but nowt has been signed oer yet,
