Re: Ants

Horrible things they are, ya can ring the council and they will use a powerful spray, helps them if you know where they coming from tho, they used to charge £7 for this but there are no guarantees.

I used to get em in my old house and tried loads of stuff, the gel was probably one of the better ones, them little house things that attract them don't seem to work, they just seemed to walk round it

Hope ya get it sorted cos they are awful

Re: Ants

I have a Pestclear 2000-about £25 on ebay - definately works! - got it for spiders, but works on all sorts of pests - see below.

PestClear 2000 Pest Deterrent
Plugs into any 3 pin socket.
Unwanted pests leave after an average of two weeks.
Operates 24 hours a day to keep pests out, for only a few pence a week.
One unit covers average size house.
This device will not affect computers, faxes, televisions or any electrical equipment.
VERY EFFECTIVE - against many 'creepy crawlies' including cockroaches, rats, mice. woodlice, ants and other rodents - ideal for homes, offices, farms, factories and restaurants.

befor last year for about 4 or 5 years I got plenty of the little sods running about at this time of year, then last Feb I saw an ad in the Star Newspaper, you got two of these plug in things for £26. I got them and put one in straight away, last year I only saw a odd ant and no spiders, this year I haven't seen 1, they work for me

Re: Ants

There are 2 types-
1, sonic only - cheaper but need one in every room
2, sonic + the signal gets sent around your wiring ring main (the sort I described)- you need one per ring main

Re: Ants

if you know where they are coming from , like holes in a wall or from under a skirting board a couple of 'puffs' of baby(talcum) powder around the area will discourage them , if they are coming in from outside draw lines with white blackboard chalk across their path (don't buy the stuff they sell in Chinese shops as "Ant chalk" it dangerous) think there are fine traces of lime in talc and chalk which burns their feet

Re: Ants

Oil of Citronella and formalin, equal proportions, paint it in the cracks and crevices with an artists brush, the mix will also get rid of other pests that lurk about like silver fish and such.

Whatever you do don't inhale to deeply it will clear your sinus's and blow the wax out of your ears. AND DON'T let the any dogs or cats sniff it, it can make them ill.
