I think Boris is the harmless, funny buffoon who relaxes you, disarms you, makes you feel there's no threat then strikes.
He intends people to underestimate him, that way it's easier to outmanoeuvre them.
Who would ever have dreamed he could beat Ken Livingstone-twice? A fool and a Tory to boot beating Labour to become Mayor of leftist London? With over 1 million votes? Impossible.
