If that is correct, something went wrong on Saturday. I know I've said this before, but talk of formations leaves me cold. I have no idea what formation Carlisle played - for all I know, it could have been 1-8-1. What I do know is that each individual Carlisle player knew where his colleagues were - and, possibly more importantly, where they would be in the following few seconds. That could not be said about Stanley.
As a team, we did not threaten Carlisle. On the positive side, as a team, we worked extremely hard and for much of the game contained a superior opposition. |
