Stanley agree Grant compensation
Accrington Stanley have agreed a fee with Scunthorpe United for midfielder bobby grant who makes the switch from the Crown Ground this summer.
19 year old Grant was out of contract however as he is under the age of 24 then we are entitled to compensation for our role in his development as a player. Initially the two club valuations of the player were some distance apart however after weeks of
negotiations a fee has been agreed that will see an initial cash payment made which will rise to a possible £260,000 depending on appearances and the performances of both Bobby and his new club. There will also be a sell on clause should Bobby be sold at a profit by his new club.
Speaking about the deal Accrington Stanley chief executive Robert Heys said "We have accepted an offer of compensation from Scunthorpe for
bobby grant, it is not as much as we would have valued the player at ourselves but our only alternative was to await the outcome of a tribunal which could be months down the line. This decision means that we know how much we are getting for the player and we can immediately add it to John Coleman's playing budget for the 2010/11 season." .... depends now on how much Stanleydale paid Scunny for him
