The owner of the Arndale will have to pay business rates to the council on the empty units.
There will a stage (maybe reached already) when income from rented units is exceeded by outgoings on rates.
We can then expect a 'fire'
to damage the roof so rendering the place unusable and rate exempt. So another eyesore will blight the town centre whilst the owners try to sell what is left of it.
