We had 17 points from the first 9 games and since then we have picked up only 14 points in the next 21 games, which is pretty much half a season. We only have 15 games left so to win 6 games in that space of time would take some doing, especially given we have 3 of the top 7 to play in our next 3 fixtures. The one thing that was always consistent in previous seasons was our ability to win at home, this season the results have been better away from home and that is a serious worry for me.

I honestly don't believe there is the fight there from the players to keep us up this season, we are in the sort of form that got Macclesfield relegated last season. They got onto a terrible run of form that they couldn't shake and losing became the norm for them, this is what is happening to us and we have to get into a mini unbeaten run fast or we will be going down.

I honestly think we are lacking a leader on the pitch and could really do with someone to step up to the plate and give us some leadership on the pitch. I think the closest player we have to this is Dean Winnard so I think giving him the captaincy would be an idea to consider. Desperate times call for radical solutions so a change in a captaincy may help us to invoke a better spirit on the pitch. I also think we could really do with bringing in another striker to offer something different as we really are struggling for goals.

The players and the manager have talked about putting in performances and getting results but the reality of this is that it has all been talk so far and very little of it shown on the pitch. The only game recently where they raised their game was against Chesterfield where they felt they had a point to prove. If we treat all games like this, then the players would be fired up in a way that would result in good performances on the pitch.

I don't think in anyway we should change manager as I think it would be stupid and would destabilise the club, plus its not the right way to treat Leam.
