I haven't had a Sunday joint for years but your post reminded me that my mother smoked "tailor made" cigarettes and my dad used to buy an ounce of Golden Virginia tobacco and red Rizla papers with which to roll his own cigarettes. The common terminolgy for the latter was smoking a joint and I see from the online dictionary that "joint" is now
Slang for A marijuana cigarette.
