Re: Wycombe Match Thread

Well my first two pence worth in a few weeks.

Positives First.

The Pitch

Fair play to Buzzer and the club, its the worst conditions ive seen in a long time and the pitch stood up brilliantly. Only taken them 40 years but AT LAST, it seems to be sorted

The Defence

For me, the back 4 & keeper actually looked a half decent unit today. Benitelli has proved to be a real find, the save in the first half was the best ive seen at the Crown for many a year. I thought the back 4 actually looked a decent unit. Aldred and Hunt where by far the best players wearing red today. Wilson obviously wasn't fully fit and looked miles off the pace, hopefully Naylor injury isnt too bad???

Also Odejayi I thought was great when he came on. The lad really is a work horse, reminds me of a certain Paul Mullin, NEVER gives up a lost cause. No doubt it was his presence that led to the goal.

You have to hand it to Murph, he was almost a passenger throughout but fair play to him, he was there when it really mattered.

As for the match itself, a real smash n grab. They without doubt should of had at least 1 penalty, and we got away with murder. But am I bothered ??? AM I HELL

Negatives.

The Midfield.

Absolutely non-existent for me, Joyce?? Please somebody tell me what he is contributing to the side??? Naismith had an absolute shocker too, also really looked like he gave up in the last 20 minutes, which wasn't great to see. Mingoia tried his heart out, but is he really a left winger?? Not sure for me??

Up front

Webber..... Nowhere near fully fit for me. Looked knackered after 45 minutes.

Gray......... Very average today, fair play he has scored a few in the last few weeks and has taken his chance but today wasn't his day. Lots of effort but spent more time moaning and being on the deck than running. His 1 on 1 effort could have cost us massively. Not sure why he threw a tantrum when he was taken off either???? He deserved to be taken off??

To summarize..... A stanley team of a few weeks ago would have folded under the pressure, so fair to them for getting back into the game. Yes we looked VERY average going forward BUT we are out of that losing habit and with no super long distance away games till January this really is our chance to make the move up the table.
