Northampton has 212,000 inhabitants, three times as many as Hyndburn, and has a couple of decades of state subsidised investment through being a 'new' (overspill) town. All the development around Sixfields has been promoted by the various New Town agencies, from buying the land, building the infrastructure and selling serviced plots. Northampton has a buoyant, mixed economy and is within commuting distance of London. I'd guess that the average house value (and the rates that can be collected) would be at least twice than that in Accy. And, as if they needed any cream on top of all that sugar, the nearest proper football team ( I can't bring myself to regard MK Dons as such) is in Coventry, quite some distance away.
Compare and contrast with Accrington town and Stanley's context.
Unless there are any Lottery winners hiding out in Huncoat.

Just a quick point Exile - Coventry are indeed the nearest football team to Northampton, they ground share this season and maybe up to 2 more yet!
