First group from yesterday's trip out by the River Po - lovely countryside and a lot of fishermen and other locals have built various chalets and shacks where they spend time. The first photo is our friends place where we had a barbecue. The pots and pans were inside! This year a neighbour is keeping chickens, a few men live there all year round - a real range of characters some who want to avoid the stresses of modern living... There are a range of these ramshackle buildings of all shapes and sizes. Was lucky to see someone on his way out fishing with the typical nets they use here which are suspended at the back of the boat and lowered into the water when they stop - they call them "Una bilancina" - a little balance or scales.
