I have found an Australian drama series named 'A Place to Call Home' - what an eye opener!
Set in the early 50s it is quite a well acted drama with good story lines.
There are 15 episodes playable on BBC iplayer. I have watched the first 6 consecutively - just can't stop watching one after the other.
If you need a break from Christmas films, these are a tonic.
