Some were calling this "The Last Great Fight" ... don't know about that, altho' Mayweather did the job.
The glory days of boxing are gone. I remember the time when lotsa folks knew the names of boxers: Ali, Frazier (ah, THE FIGHT
), Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto "Fists of Stone" Duran, Tyson, Irish Mickey Rourke: the list goes on, and on ... even George Chuvalo who, in 98 fights including bouts against the best in the world, was never put on his ass once.
But I would be hard put to name too many of today's boxers. If this is boxing's last blast before UFC takes over, at least it was an expensive one.
