Re: Today in pictures
Today was a windy experience, one minute I was on the edge of "Ossy" Moor the next I was promenading along the Rossendale Way. It proved to me we live in green and sometimes pleasant land. On the way home the Gorse lining the motorway was belting out full colour and the Ox Eye Daisy was giving a hint it was about to drift white flowers everywhere, and on the wind you could smell the Hawthorn flowers.
1. Jamestone Quarry with Ossy Moor off to the left.
2. As we edge up the hill a big machine is pushing stuff around in the quarry.
3. I am starting to wonder if I am in for a dousing.
4. Trees are shaped by the elements, and not by their desire for the light.
5. I am stood on the Rossendale Way, and just over that wall is Ossy Moor.
6. On the boundary looking in the direction of Helmshore.
7. The remains of what I believe is an old cart track.
8. The top end of Jamestone Quarry, and tucked into the "V" of the trees on the right is Troy Quarry.
9. The turbines are turning under turbulent skies.
10.Just on the edge of Ossy Moor looking over to Calf Hey and Musbury Heights.
