I don't know if it is, maybe I've just not noticed it before?

It's on the back of a pickup truck and says something like:-

I'M DOING THE LEGAL SPEED LIMIT ARE YOU?

Well it went past too fast for me to take a pic but, it had me thinking,
what use is that sign?
If this guy IS doing the legal speed limit and I am following him without actually making contact, surely I'm doing the same speed or perhaps even slower than he is?
Otherwise I'd be ramming him up the backside.
Perhaps our caring Council should re-think this one? I'm all for road safety but only if it makes sense.

Maybe that really good old sign IF YOU CAN READ THIS YOU'RE TOO CLOSE.
Would be better?
