Whilst I was on Benbecula a sub-aqua club from MOD visited and dived on the wreck of the Politician - Whisky Galore. They recovered quite a number of bottles of whisky from the wreck and donated some to the Mess and various senior officers (I didn't get one :-( ).
Some had oil flecks inside them but some looked OK and one was duly opened and sampled - it was bloody awful and required numerous shots of Morange to get rid of the taste - or at least, I think that was the excuse for a real session.
