There's the rub, Burningman.
The EU is not 'globalist', it is a protectionist, undemocratic organisation.
It closes it's borders to goods and products from most of the rest of the world, which would help raise the economic prospects of many developing countries, in order to maintain inefficient French farms and German industries.
The EU is far, far from the state of global hippy nirvana you seem to attribute to it.
