just out of interest when i was a lad cattle@sheep used to be driven down maudsley st.then past whalley rd congregation church(kenyon st)i think it was called,then down the pleck past the australian and on to the slaughter house,but what puzzles me is where did they come from?maybe someone knows.my gran lived on maudsley st top block before st johns an i remember following em down to the main rd.also just out of interest my grandad used to work for the council his job was looking after the horses that pulled the bin carts before they mechanised.(next door to slaughter house)
