There is little doubt in the minds of those who watched this man at work that he was supreme at his game. He was one of the first television football stars that we all wanted to emulate at some point. The measure of today’s players against those of yesteryear serves little and achieves nothing. There will always be those who didn’t like him as a man or his game and their opinion should be respected, but lets not rub this mans name in the mire, there’s been enough of that and for those of us who marvelled at his antics on the pitch for that short period of our young lives, little will offend us.
