Re: Your Holiday??
I'm going to Lima, Peru from April 20th to May 8th. My wife is Peruvian, so we're going over to see the family, look up her old friends and generally chill out. The weather will be nice, the beer is cheap, the beaches are beautiful and I'm sure we'll have a great time.
However....over the past few months, I've become more and more aware that I've scored a spectacular own goal. Way back in September when we booked the flights, it occurred to me that I would miss Stanley's last two matches of the season. I immediately lobbied for a change of dates, but no go, those were the only dates around that time when we could get flights at a price we could afford. Anyway, I argued to myself, Stanley are shaping up to have another so-so season, so it'll be a blow, but not the end of the world. But things have changed since then and I now realise that I will not be there for what could well be our historic return to the football league. I can't believe it...the moment I've waited 35 years for, and I'll be somewhere in a bar in downtown Lima.
