Re: 'NEW' WEMBLEY- when will it be ready

From the BBC website!!!

Wembley will not open before 2007

Bon Jovi were due to play at the stadium in June
The new Wembley Stadium is not due to open until 2007, BBC News has learned.
The project is already more than six months behind schedule and over budget. Now four concerts planned for the summer will no longer be staged there.

The deadline for completion had already been extended to the end of January and more recently the end of March. There is still no official opening date.

The FA Cup final, which was due to be the first event staged at the stadium, has been moved to Cardiff.

US rock band Bon Jovi were due to be the first band to play at the rebuilt stadium on 10 June.

Take That, Robbie Williams and the Rolling Stones were also due to play over the summer.

A spokesperson for Take That said the reformed boy band's shows would be moved to the Milton Keynes Bowl.

Bon Jovi were the last band to play at the old Wembley Stadium before it shut down in 2000.

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi had been hopeful that despite delays they would be able to perform at the stadium on their summer tour of the UK.

It is believed the Bon Jovi gig on 10 June will be moved to the Twickenham Stadium, which is home to English rugby, although this has not been confirmed.
