Re: Encouraging our young support
Who cares what the prices are, it is a price you would pay for loyalty to the club. Eric Whalley is no mug, he is a businessman. Stanley fans have earned this team the right to be back in the league for continuing to support the team. The Ultras and others are banging their drums (apology for the euphonism in the light of the fact they can't actually use them next season) for the cause that is Accrington Stanley FC. As I stated in your last post in February, I live in Wigan, I could go and watch the cheapest Premiership club in the land, or even worse and no hope Rugby League club, but I am Accrington born and bred and now bring at least 3 pie-eaters to watch Stanley on a regular basis, both home and away, and they love it. They say that watching at the JJB has no atmosphere, they preferred the days of Springfield Park (for the uninitiated it was a bit like our ground but slightly bigger) which is why they come to Stanley now! The only problem I can see in the future is that success breeds bigger gates and better stadia, therefore, Does Eric and Co. want a successful team with all the bells and whistles or do we want to languish in League 2 or worse forever more. I know what my answer would be.
