As I stated in your last post in February, I live in Wigan, I could go and watch the cheapest Premiership club in the land, or even worse and no hope Rugby League club, but I am Accrington born and bred and now bring at least 3 pie-eaters to watch Stanley on a regular basis, both home and away, and they love it. They say that watching at the JJB has no atmosphere, they preferred the days of Springfield Park (for the uninitiated it was a bit like our ground but slightly bigger) which is why they come to Stanley now! The only problem I can see in the future is that success breeds bigger gates and better stadia, therefore, Does Eric and Co. want a successful team with all the bells and whistles or do we want to languish in League 2 or worse forever more. I know what my answer would be.

It was I who made the post back in Feb, not Mel. And yes the loyalty for you is enough, however if all the fans we have at the moment remain loyal until they die it is not enough, we need bigger gates and new fans, children do not have anything to be loyal to !
Why should an 8 year old care that stanley has a great history, they only care about now, we need to give the children something they want to go to and that is affordable enough for a single parent to be able to let them go to.
We have the first thing done, children would be happy because we are on TV next year and they would come just for the chance that their face may be shown in the crowd, yes this might not be the greatest way to encourage support but it works.
Children would come for the chance of appearing on television and stay because of the atmosphere and excitement at the club, however they have to be able to afford to stay, how many 8 year olds can afford 3 quid a week ? I know that I couldn't when I was that age, and it's not like they're going to sacrifice there who weekly allowance on 1 thing is it

The parents are the ones who have to pay and say thats 2 children with season tickets thats 160 quid plus an adult one as the children have to be supervised up to a certain age thats 435 quid a year for the cheapest season tickets. It's not going to gain much support is it now ? IT HAS TO BE AFFORDABLE Whether thats by lowering the prices or by doing special offers for family season tickets etc It doesn't matter, all I know is that things need to be changed.
