The New Orleans' Saints returned in triumph last night to play their first home game at the newly refurbished Dome. Before a sold out crowd, they trounced the visiting Atlanta Falcons. Of course, the ESPN honchos in the press box just couldn't resist pointing out that other parts of New Orleans remain as they were following Katrina. It was clear that they were trying to make the point that "America Doesn't Care!" Can't people even enjoy a football game and a joyous homecoming without this sort of rubbish being pushed in their faces?
A little later on, I came across the following piece, written by Vedran Vuk, student of economics at Loyola University in New Orleans. As I know, from previous posts on AccyWeb, you get a great deal of misinformation over there. So, here's a further update from the Big Easy.
