Started going to the Con in '66, but it was a bit heavy for me. Look at one of the rockers the wrong way and you could get a thump in the face! Joined Accy disco when it opened in summer, '67. In fact, I had one of the first membership cards. Fantastic nights up there, with Big Mick spinning the sounds and everyone dancing in a circle. Used to go to Blackpool Mecca in the '70's, but I never bothered with the downstairs bit. It was straight up to the Highland Room for me - Northern Soul heaven!
