You don't need to trim a cat's claws it will do that itself. Get it a scratching post if you like your furniture unshredded. It will sharpen its claws on that and will bite any raggy bits off with its teeth. Alternatively, it may sharpen its claws on
you if you decide to bath it.
Our cat has had to be bathed a couple of times, due to oily mud, and it was traumatic - for her and for me. She even gets very concerned if she comes in the bathroom and finds a human in the bath. She puts her paws up on the side, gives you a big-eyed look of sheer horror and miaows loudly. Strangely, she doesn't worry if you're in the shower.
