Think shirts and tie work out cheaper in the end though mel ..and they wear a lot better than sweat/polo shirts, which are susceptable to colour loss and shrinking and look really sloppy after a few months. A set of decent white/blue shirts can last a least a couple of years .. more if your children don't grow too fast. No answer to the ironing though, but just think how smart they will look after your effort ...
Worked with a lady who had a 33" leg .. wow.. longest legs I have ever seen .. terrific.. but what a problem, she did have some pants that were half mast. Shame there are not many 'dressmakers' bespoke tailors around these days. Know could prove expensive, however, could chose a really good fabric for her and if you consider the cost per wear, may work out cheaper in the long run and will fit a treat.
