Re: DOOM and GLOOM or just 'Mirror' Talk !!!

IMHO the club are now reaping what they have sown over the years. When we were small fry we could afford to lose a fan or two here and there if their ideas or face didn't fit, we could afford to lose the odd supplier because there were more fish in t'sea, we could afford to lose investors because there were queues around the block. These people were lost through poor customer service and nothing more. All those people we need now, but they won't come back. Every year we will pick up a couple of hundred new fans, but also lose a couple of hundred - this is perfectly normal and happens to every business. The trick is to try to keep the two hundred that would otherwise leave through a variety of reasons.

Today I found out that a stalwart is having a year off because he has been to practically every game for years!! He hasn't fallen out with Eric, or th eclub, or the lack of facilities, he just wants a break. But wait until the big game comes along and he'll be back, we've just got to make sure that the bug bites him again and he'll be back on.

We have the roof.

We will have bar facilities by next week (apparently)

Things will improve - we've just got to ride it out.

...... and the Mirror got the wrong end of the stick regarding finaces being the worst they've been since the Unibond (which was only four years ago FFS), what was true was that season ticket sales were the worst they had been since the Unibond. Nowhere in any of those articles does Eric say that we are broke, nowhere does it say that if he pulls out we will go down the plughole. What it does say is that if the people of Accrington can't be bothered to watch us then why should we bother, we might as well shut up shop.

And where is Ilyas Khan while all this is going on?
