Re: vs Oldham

my version then:

Bavs - did nothing for me at all. a dropped easy catch to lay iton for their first goal. then stayed rooted to his spot too long for their second. Can't really remember the third so won't comment but he made no saves to speak of, made no commands of his area and his kicking/throwing was neither here nor there. Has nothing more tho offfer than Fearon but Fearo is young and learning and would have got more out of tonight and should be number 2 from on.

The defence - looked good and composed in the first half - what happened? They didn't get near most balls in the air for a start!

The midfield - again first half they looked cohesive and composed. Second half shame Boco went off with a possible hamstrign problem. Proctor (contrary to others) I thought still did okay but his long range passes were slightly off. Brown made some intelligent passes and runs but left gaps on his defensive duties. Which brings me to Miles, in pre-season I saw him make some brilliant dribbles a la 2nd half against Leicester, he did that once tonight but ran down a dark alley. Too often he was lightweight in the tackle, the closing down and got nowhere near headers. Whalley did nowt in his limited spell

Upfront - I'll start with Mullin cos as you all know I am a fan. But today was never going to be his day. The refereree give him nothing all game and warned him once or twice about trying to shake off the defender! Eventually the ref had had enough of watching Mullin get bundled over every two minutes so booked him. That tells its own story. Nut worse was that from the point of the Clayton End, Mullin was having a bad game, not his fault particularly but every decision went against him. The substitution was a tiring Dsane for Mcgivern whilst a clearly ineffetive, foul conceding (wrongly again every time) Paul Mullin stayed on. REST THE GUY, PLAY A DIFFERENT GAME SOMETIMES.

Roscoe was the major plus point today. A small lad with no weight about him but he pulled their defence all over the place today. He was sharp, inventive and the goal he scored was from nothing. He must start on saturday.

The referee. What was he on? all home fans are biased - its in the rules of the game, but this plonker was candidate for the dick of the year. The foul on Dsane in the first half - clean through, bearing down on the keeper one on one and thwack. He gives the foul but their player didn't even get booked! LAST MAN, DENIED CLEAR GOAL SCORING OPPORTUNITY what bit of this do I not understand? All right he was theeee last man cos of the goalkeeper but as I had understood the guy had to go??????

The foul on McGivern - blatantly pushed over and the linesman flags (he had a clear unobstructed view) but the referee, from an angle and through a crowd, decided not to consult! Throughout the 2nd half he continued to bewilder the home crowd with his decisions from outer space. The guy is a knob and if Premiership officials can request that a referee is not welcome than so can we.

I accept that most fans only see the decisions given aginst their team, but we have two in five days that could cost people their jobs or maybe even ultimately the club, their life.
