Like Ian says which cable is it? Is it from the PC to the modem?
In fact where is the modem, next to the TV or next to the PC? If the modem is next to the PC then it is the coax cable that needs to be longer. How much longer does it need to be? Can you not put the new fire place over the cable? ( without damaging it of course )
