Folloowing the demise of Stanley's Lancs Comb side in the mid 60s I started supporting MUFC (no apologies, it was the Best / Law / Charlton team and anyway I could use the same scarf). My mate and I usually went in the Stretford End but against Liverpool it sold out - we had to get in to get the token out of the programme to have a chance of European Cup tickets, and the only option was in the Scoreboard End with the Koppites. United scored first, at the Scoreboard End, and we were 3 feet in the air with arms outstretched before we thought "Oh ****, bad move".

We were only about 16 and both little, which probably saved us, and we only got bantered, even though (I think) United won. Couple of years later when things were generally nastier it might have been very different .
