There is nothing selfish about informing a potential cold caller that I am not interested in buying anything, or changing energy supplier or being converted to a religious faith. Indeed it is the reverse. My notice, if the caller cares to read it and they could hardly miss it, tells the caller that they are wasting their time waiting around for me to answer the knock. And you call that selfish?
