Well I wasn't sure, I didn't think of looking back two days. I'm reading the news online and it doesn't renew stories everyday, leaves some on for a while.

I learnt that the fire service/coastal rescue etc don't have to come save you if they dont want to. The police obviously have a duty to, though I'm writing an essay at the moment on this topic so it's quite interesting to see if there will be a claim for negligence, because normally the police have to have knowledge of the victim being in danger etc, and obviously the boys dad wasn't the most likely victim...

hmm we shall see. *removes legal thinking hat*

It is such a terrible shame that these things happen. I wouldn't blame the police though for this happening... it could've happened to anybody trying to step in and help the lad.
