Although it has been called gamblers caves, it never was a cave, it was an old disused quarry. The gambling used to take place on the grassy part in front of the opening in the quarry face.

The last time I saw any gambling take place was in the 1950's, usually on a Sunday, they had lookouts posted round the rim of the quarry. I used to sit on the banking watching them. Never saw any police raids, saw quite a few fights and arguments about cheating.

Try Google earth, it shows a road to it, there also seems to be a lot going on between Blue Slates Cottages and West farm.
