I went in there on my 18th birthday 1960. The licencees were then Ron & Isabel Potts.
I last went in about 3 years ago when my son's band played there.
I don't think it is too small for a meet - the lounge is bigger than the Stag lounge.

Lol, as you knew my Methodist grandparents, you can imagine their horror when my Dad started going in the Stop on his eighteenth too. 
If we do have a meet there I'll be happy, as I can just roll across to my mum's.
