Second hand books on Accrington ?

I have received a query from someone who wanted to get hold of a copy of 'Barretts Directory Preston and District for 1936'

So perhaps the question here is ...
are there any good local bookshops where these type of books might be obtained for us out of towners ?

A few years back I stumbled across a local second hand bookshop, but can't remember if this was Accrington, or Preston. I was fascinated at the amount of technical books relating to the dark arts of the cotton industry. The shop was full to the ceiling of the same type of books. One was Naismith's Student Cotton Spinning, others related to the machinery itself. Another book helped me with unfamiliar occupational terms like 'cotton throstle spinner' etc.

I left the shop with some very useful books for researching my family tree, but at the same time I felt a bit sad that the shop was direct evidence of the decline of the main employer for the area.
