Re: Hair Straighteners
Hi Sara.
I'm very sorry. My first post does read rather rude in its self. I wasn't having a dig at you, the way I was thinking of it at the time doesn't show in the post I posted, having read it today myself. Oops! (I'm A bit thick really )
When you said that you had tried all over Accrington and Blackburn for a repairer and had no joy, I was surprised that no one had offered to fit a new lead for you.
Anyhow you replaced the lead your self, so if it is still not working then it will probably be the heating element gone open circuit or the temperature controller stuck open.
Try a TV repair shop I'm sure they would have replaced the lead for you or even attempt to repair it for you, if they can get the parts for it.
If you send it away to a specialist chances are it would probably cost just as much to buy new rather than have it repaired.
I think these days' appliances like these and others aren't really designed to be repair. Manufacturers would prefer people to buy new, so they don't make it easy for us to have things repaired.
