I've always got a book on the go. My favourite fiction writer is Lesley Pearse.

I also like true crime books and autobiographies.

Can't be doing with biographies as they are just full of stories from the papers, not necessarily true and not necessarily authorised by the person they're about.

I enjoyed Ugly by Contance Briscoe, A piece of cake by Cupcake Brown and books by Jenny Tomlin. It's good to see what people can achieve despite such a rough start in life.....however, I've had my fill of what I call misery memoirs now. There are far too many of them.

Every second book you pull of the shelves is about some poor beggar having to eat out of the dog's bowl and sleep in the cutlery drawer.
