Talking Prediction League 2008/09

Well there I was, getting drunk in the clubhouse chatting away last night when it suddenly dawned on me that I hadnt started the Prediction League and the first fixture is imminent! So apologies for the late start but here it is. Ok same format as last season basically so for anyone who knows how it works you can stop reading now For the newbies : The club have kindly shown their support this season yet again and will provide a £20 store voucher for the winner and a £10 one for the runner up. All you need to do is predict the score of the next league game in the relevant thread that I will post up before each game (usually a week before but can be less than that if I am busy) and for it to count it must be before kick off and clear - not just putting 2-1 for example, I need you to post who you want to win 2-1 or loose 2-1 whichever the case may be (obviously doesnt matter if you want to predict a draw ).

Points - 5 for a correct spot on prediction for the right final score and to the right team. 3 for predicting the right final outcome but not the right score - for example Stanley win 1-0 and you predicted 2-1 to Stanley. You get a bonus point if all you manage to predict correctly come the final whistle is the amount of goals scored. For example - you predict 5-1 to Stanley and the opposition win 1-0 - you get a point for predicting that 1 opposition goal. Hope thats clear and no you dont get 10 points for a correct prediction because you got 3 for the right outcome and 2 bonus points for predicting the amount of goals correctly for both sides

So it begins - first game of the season is against newbies Aldershot at the FES - glad to see them back in the league as well. So how do you think we will fare against the 'town full of squaddies' this time around?? Should be a good atmosphere I would have thought as the Shots fans also like their colourful terrace displays. Would be good to get off to a good start wouldnt it? Even if Coley is banned for this game... Deadline for all predictions is this Saturday 9th August, 15:00BST. As some of you may well know, this is also the exact time I take off from Gatwick to return to warmer climates so I will sort the first table out probably on Sunday and get the next one going then.

Here we go again then people - good luck for the season to everyone on and off the pitch!! HOOPAAAA!
