We are getting more women in their 40s now, than ever before. The only problem with that is that some serious pregnancy related conditions (pre-eclampsia in particular), can be more likely in the 'older' mother, making pregnancy more dangerous. I know that IVF has helped a lot of people but I think that it is ridiculous that women of 50-60 are paying to get pregnant when the risks are really huge.

Having said that, obesity causes bigger risks in pregnancy and a large amount of maternal deaths are directly linked to being overweight. I know that most IVF clinics will not help you if your BMI is above 30 these days.
