Why was a beautiful sycamore tree (growing on Union Road near the clinic) chopped down yesterday? If it was diseased, then I understand, but it appeared healthy, it disguised a featureless red brick wall, didn't obstruct the view of drivers, and was glorious when changing colour in Autumn. Perhaps it had the audacity to shed its leaves on the pavement, causing Mr Elf'n Safety to grab his chain saw. I find it very sad.
