Mixed hospital wards

Surprised no one has brought this up already. As some one who has spent more than their fare share of time in hospital, I have to say that I've only ever been on a single sex ward once, that was in Burnley Marsden, I think it was Bolsover Ward. I have been treated in 7 different hospitals and that's the only one. Having said that the wards have always been segregated to some extent women at one end and men at the other, with separate toilets and washing facilities. There are advantages with mixed sex wards though, if the nurses are busy, the lasses can always brew up
