Re: Where is Aspen Valley Railway Viaduct?
In fact, the wooden Aspen Viaduct is still there - but it has been infilled to give it stability and to prevent fires which started when hot cinders fell onto it. Some of the material used to infill it was ash from the engines. The infilling started about 10years after it was constructed in the mid-1840s. (Accrington's viaduct has an 1848 datestone)
