It's possible the regular setup they use is like a photo booth, just without the box around it. The parameters for a "successful" adult passport photo are so restrictive that you can use a fixed field lens and a stool that's a constant distance from it, and get acceptable results. As long as the stool can go up and down, there's nothing to change (unless the customer has a huge head!)

Lie Gracie down on a white sheet and stand over her looking straight down through the viewfinder. The taller the photographer, the better. Zoom in so her head fills half the frame then take the shot. The rules for passports are relaxed for infants, so they don't need to have their eyes open, mouth closed and it doesn't matter if they are smiling. If you email it to me I've got the photoshop template to make a set of passport prints, I can post it back... Or bring her to the shop.
