That might be one tat is lost in the mists of time. As for weight the only thing i am sure of is that the original kilogramme no longer weighs a lilogramme as it has been polished so often it is now lighter. India gave us the 0 for numeracy so for ease of use or to be a pain old Boneparte started metrics and left hand drive on the continent as he was left handed.
