I find it hard to see what is so difficult to believe about an 11yr old making the choice not to go abroad on a school trip. My little sister is 10 and recently made the exact same decision. Children at that age make far more complex decisions these days on issues that used to be reserved just for adults.

On that programme on the BBC last night about breast enlargements one of the girls said that she'd thought of having a breast enlargement from the age of 11! If a child is capable of thinking about something like that, I'm pretty sure that any child could decide whether or not they wanted to go on a school trip.

Ask any 11yr old if they want to go visit somewhere. I'm sure they'll tell you yes or no.
